At Little Owls we work in line with the EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage) All activities are planned in accordance with the EYFS.

Children have access to many resources such as cars, dolls, Duplo/Lego, Happyland items, role play items, puppets, games/puzzles to name a few. There is access to a train table which children can use to either play with the train set, cars or create their own active world using some of our other resources such as our farmyard and animals.

I also have a range of arts and crafts; children can follow a guided activity or create their own masterpiece which they will be able to bring home to show you!

I also have a selection of books, both fiction and non-fiction which the children are free to access at any time.
I like to involve children where age appropriate in daily activities such as preparation and cooking of meals, cleaning, tidying and hanging out the washing. These basic tasks provide lots of opportunity for learning and development along with core skills needed later in life.

I encourage plenty of outdoor play which children will be allowed to access whatever the weather, I advise supplying waterproof clothing and wellingtons in bad weather conditions so to protect their clothing.

We have a good sized garden with a play house that provides immense opportunity for role play, a slide, trikes, water/sand tables and an active world tray for lots of play and exploring. We also have a very popular mud kitchen and we eat out whenever possible!

I also have a gazebo that can also be used throughout the summer to offer the children shade whilst playing.
Where possible we regularly take your child on outings local to us; I encourage walking for those who are able and have a double buggy for those children who are a little younger and a back pack. The places we might visit are: the park, singing and music classes, the beach, a farm, the stables in Chiddingfold and local toddler groups.

I use an online system called ‘Baby Day’s which as a parent you will have access to, where you can view photos of your child’s day and daily diary.
